THE GREAT OASIS COOKOFF in Colby, Kansas was held April 28 & 19, 2017. We placed 3rd with our Pulled Pork and 9th overall out of 24 teams. We were contending with rain and snow with gusty winds the whole weekend. Miserable weather! At least the competition was over when about 15" of snow and high winds created a blizzard Saturday night and all day Sunday. I-70 and all roads were closed, no way in or out of Colby. We survived our first BBQ competition and know we can go through adverse conditions! We are looking at entering the Holdrege, Nebraska BBQ competition on June 16 & 17, 2017. Thank you to all the people involved in The Great Oasis Cookoff for all you did to make the cookoff a success. We'll be back next year!
